Coronis
‘Coronis’ is a murder of seven crows representing the fearless wild female, embodying the archetype of ‘other’ akin to witches, midwives, and the secret realms of women’s knowledge. This murder of crows caricatures the instinctive nature of survival and reproduction attributed to female woman, her hybrid ‘vulva' full of eggs on show as her prize.
Each crow is a cheeky representation of the wise, watchful and sticky beaked feminine archetype often mocked as busybodies. Yet the crow is known to be intelligent and audacious having connections to the magical and mysterious.
